My name is Gideon Van der Merwe.

I am the Executive Director of Disciples Go Ministries.

What a privilege it is to now be able to give my best working-time for this ministry.

Such an important ministry, because it has everything to do with fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20).

My prayer is that the Lord of the harvest will use us in His movement of making disciples who multiply, so that many more labourers will be sent out into His harvest!

I am married to a wonderful wife who's name is Anneën, and we have three precious children namely Gideon (jnr.), Sebelle and Ilè.

Awie Potgieter is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Awie believes that disciple making is one of the core commands Jesus gave us, and he is passionate about making disciples. In his words: "Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and bringing people into the Kingdom of God is the most satisfying and rewarding work there is to do!"

In addition to his responsibilities in DGM, Awie is also an entrepreneur and co-owner of a small business with his wife Martie. They are grateful that God made it possible for them to have a business that allows them to be involved in disciple making.

Awie and Martie also have two children – a son and a daughter – and love camping and the outdoors. Being outside and in nature brings peace from the busy world around them.

My name is Pauline van der Walt.

I am serving as a director of Disciples Go Ministries.

Disciple making is an instruction from the Bible.

How great is it to see people also experiencing the love of God. The love of Jesus burns in my heart especially when I reach out to others. When someone is working closely within God's will with disciple making and outreach work, you see miracles happen that you won't see in your normal daily life.

I am addicted to that feeling of love and joy that burns in one's heart. It makes me happy.

My name is Dawie Mulder.

I am serving as a director and the chairman of DGM's applicant committee.

I believe that the ultimate calling by Jesus is in His words; "Follow me". We do this predominantly when we obey the great commandment: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." We can only live this meaningful with fulfilment in our daily lives if it is driven by Godly love and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Dawie is happily married to Annalise and they have 2 children, a married son with two grandchildren and a daughter.

Dawie & Annalise are passionate to reach different people groups and ages with the Gospel and enjoy outdoor life, travelling and nature to escape everyday routine and work.

My name is Johan Visser.

I am married to Estie, and we have two sons, Paul and André.

My professional career as Engineer turned Project Manager has taught me a lot about working with people, processes, and systems but it really was my journey over the last 10 years that taught me about God, and how He works with (His) people.

"I want you to go to Olievenhoutbosch".

During a time of worship in 2012, I heard these words from within and I immediately knew, I had to obey. Over the next decade, I have started on a life-long journey of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.

Working within and with local churches, NPOs and global mission organisations I have started to feel and to experience God's heart for this world, as expressed in Jesus's words of 'let Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven'.

I have a passion for Jesus, for His Kingdom, His righteousness, His commission and for His people of Africa.

My name is Hettie Roelofse (Peens).

I am a retired widow and very grateful for my children, son and daughter, who are well established in their marriages and careers.

Most of my adult life revolved around intercessory prayer and missions, local, national and in global initiatives. I am currently a member of Every Nation Church, Tshwane/Elarduspark.

I was exposed to Disciple Making Movement in 2009 by David Broodryk and David Watson and learnt from many other pioneers in DMM, for which I am most grateful. I fully believe in the power of DMM to awaken Christians to the Call, to obey the Great Commission. DMM enables people to obey this command in any setting where they live, work or minister.

While I lived in Mtunzini for couple of years, I have introduced DMM in Mtunzini/Ging area in KZN, where this is still growing together with children's ministry.

After returning to Pretoria in 2021, I joined DGM as volunteer and worked with a team introducing DBS and Art to a group of children in Olievenhoutbosch, which gave us access with DMM to leaders from the community, which lead to a church being transformed to a DMM church and children's ministry.

Currently I am involved with DMM in Mooiplaas informal settlement, connecting with a group of ladies through Ditshego school.
